Deore II

Does anyone know if DX or XT thumbies would cope with 9 speed?? This hidden click thingy that people go on about??

Deore started in 88.
Xt II came in 89 so it seems the Deore group was called Deore II for the year 89.
In 1990 the name goes to Deore DX.

Thanks for clarification - These babies are older than I thought then :)

Yea, but they are damn nice Neil 8) Are they Funk bound then?

Probably yeah, got them NOS from the States last year....unless I find some NOS XT Thumbies (but these are just as good I guess...)

Damn it :(
My '07 Avalanche has SRAM X-7 shifters, and is mated to a 9 speed block and X-9 rear mech (with Shimano Deore LX front mech, cranks and hubs - bit of a hybrid).
As it has separate brake levers (Avid Jucy 3) I was toying with changing it to thumbies, but had a horrible feeling there aren't any 9 speed thumbies out there :?

get the pauls components brackets and convert a road 9sp frame lever to a thumbie, they look old skool cool :)
