Was reading on the interweb a few months back that they stop testing men over a certain age for prostate cancer since most have it... how very worrying..

The issue is that most men of a certain age have an enlarged prostate, and the test doesn't tell you if it is malignant and growing fast, only if it is enlarged. So there are lots of false positives.
As a result, many people are being treated pointlessly.
