DeKerf

I personally prefer the look of a high rise stem over risers. You can pick up a cheap one for £20ish or get a lovely custom one painted to match... Do Dekerf do custom stems?

Great looking bike though & what a bit of luck on the forks!

Got the main job on the DeKerf sorted recently - cut the steerer to a more suitable length and put on a more aesthetically pleasing stem in the form of a chrome RaceFace Deus XC.

Been out on this quite a lot recently for 2:30 to 3:00 rides around the very muddy local woods. Its an absolute joy to ride. The bars are a bit lower than I would ideally like for rides of that length but just about OK and I think the balance between comfort and looks ref the number of spacers below the stem is about optimal.

In fact, it rides so nicely, I'm now seriously considering selling the Pace.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Absolutely stunning.
As for bars I've Mary's on mine and they work a treat, however I've e-mailed Chris to see if he can make something similar. If I hear back I'll let you know......

Interesting. Got any photos of them on your DeKerf?

Re:

The dekerf has seen little use of late as I've got another Marin team Ti single speed project (and a Santa Cruz Blur) so I'm considering two options:

1) sell it on
2) do a proper retro build on it with m900 xtr etc (then sell it on?)

Thoughts?

Matt

If then end result is to sell it then I'd just do it now. If you want to do the M900 build then ride it for a few months before selling then go for it. Seems a bit pointless to spend a load of money and time on a build just to take a few pics and then make a loss selling it. I'll buy the forks if you split ;-)
