I think you'll struggle, unless a shop has a good one as NOS.

You can still buy a new Ritchey Logic 1 1/8" threaded, but it's got a lot of plastic in it which tends to put people off.

Chris King apparently make one and suppose to be good. Cost a few pennies though.

Are you keeping period or are you looking for just period styling ?


Of course there are the Shimano one's. I can vouch for XTR and the later XT/LX/STX cartridge style seem to be good. I do of course like my Mavic headest.

Really depends what styling you're after, black/silver, bit out there or conventional ...

I picked up a Tioga Avenger off ebay a while back. It was a shop with ten of them so they do crop up. I was lucky as it was the same stack height as the XT one it was replacing.

DX, LX, etc crop up on ebay or here every now and again.

I've been using an LX with no probs, and it was cheap-ish.

Found new XTR for £50...

I'm in no mental rush (having just had a speeding ticket land on the mat) but am going to be looking for a bargain-tastic option (under £20 would be ideal, WELL under )
