Whats your tips for removing decal residue?

I was going to suggest that too, or WD40. Unless of course it is one of those zolatone Marin bikes. If it is really stubborn stuff you can get a specialist product in a spray format. Try Aztec Chemicals.

Easy...get a bottle of Sticky Stuff Remover from Lakeland...I've removed some seriously stubborn goo using it. Highly recommended.

there's a product here in North America called "goo gone" and it does wonders for any kind of decal/sticker residue.

How about isopropal alchohol Its used to remove or soften plasters prior to 'Quick' removal?Should be cheap from local chemists.
