Death penalty in the UK, yes or no???

In extreme cases such as Lee Rigby's murderers, I firmly believe a case can be put for the death penalty. What other punishment can there be for people like that?
And what other deterrent can there be to stop other people going round acting in the same manner?

These two will go to prison - but how long for? 'Life' doesn't usually mean life in the UK - it usually does mean quite a lot of years but not often that someone will stay incarcerated til they die.

OK, so they'll lose their liberty and also lose the right to live a life we see as normal, but that would be to treat them as people with our own similar outlook on life. These two particular individuals can hardly be deemed to have a normal view on how a life should be lived.

These two will ensure their 'Human Rights' are attended to and met, they will be fed, clothed and kept - by us. Any complaint they may have about their treatment will be treated with a damn sight more care and concern than anything the victims' families will receive.

That ^^^ is the main reason why people still talk about capital punishment. I could conceivably kill someone and be out on parole before I'm 55. Regardless of prisoners' rights, if life actually meant that you'd be inside until you were either dead or too old to enjoy a decent quality of life, that would be a far bigger deterrent than it currently is.
Personally, if someone close to me was murdered, and there was a sound conviction, I'd consider a lifetime of concrete walls and bumrape to be a far more satisfactory punishment than the instant release of death.

With all mod cons.

Can you see what I did there?

Execution or devil's island or medical experiments. Fair choices.

Yep, I'd go with medical experiments for extreme cases (paedophilia, serial rape/murder) where there was no doubt of guilt. I know some people draw comparisons with Nazis, but theres a difference between treating someone as sub-human because of their ethnicity, and someone forfeiting their right to humanity through their actions.

To be fair I quite like the system we have where they have nothing to loose and escape or are let out from prison and allowed to or are on the run so kill, so rape or cause people to have a worse quality of life and live in fear. Society has it sorted.
Good job they respected the no killing part of this agreement in the first instance.

I wouldn't trust the justice system to do it. Let them die vigilante style, Mexican gangster beheading would be appropriate for Adebayole and his mate.

Life or death?

Tar and Feather, then left on an ant hill to die a slow and painful death....

Blimey, someone really doesn't like Spurs do they!

Aggrieved Arsenal fan per-chance?

Or did you mean 'Adebowale' or maybe 'Adebolajo'...?
