Biggest thing I miss about London is all the bike perving. Crazy mix of bikes and riders and plenty of old bikes, some still very much original, but sadly most had been murdered, sorry modernised by wannabe hipsters…

Yes. Hipsters tend to Mookify most things or get something I used to consider trendy and turning it into not so much.
But yes a lot to see especially in nicer parts.
My lifelong memory is walking down past university college on Gower street and this lad using a huge lock cutter relieving a series of bikes from where they were chained. He stopped and looked at me - I looked and laughed (being half pissed) so he dutifully continued
Let’s just say I’ve never chained a bike up since
