DBR Axis TT. 1 day left and 1 bid of 99p

& the seller won't send me any pics (or indeed acknowledge the request)! But now that it's out, any thoughts on whether it is actually a TT based on the rather poor evidence put in front of you?! :)

way i see it, if you go to collect and it turns out not to be a tt, its misadvertised and you got no obligations. i dunno how to tell myself other than the magnet test. did diamondback make any frames in bare steel?

Looks like a 1994 Axis to me - steel, not titanium

That was my thought - doesn't look the right colour to me! Would be pretty obvious with some better pics of specific bits of the frame though. He's listed it as being alu! :?

Too far away for me to collect!

but the steel Axis has snake stays - can't see those on this one and the decals aren't right for a '94 steel one. I know mine had those stickers but that's becasue I preferred them to the correct ones :D

I think actually there it a reasonable chance it could be a TT.

The decals are TT, but yes they could have been stuck on later, but then it also has the made in USA decal still on the seat tube.

If it was steel I would expect the chain stay in photo 3 to be in a lot worse condition given the state of the rest of the bike, yet it looks to be pretty good (no hints of rust) which would suggest Ti and not steel.

The seat stays also have an S bend in them its just hard to make out.

I'd take a punt on it if a) it was the right size and b) I was in that part of the world.

Like others, I'm not convinced this is a Ti frame.

What will no doubt be a tad confusing is that the Apex / Axis steel frame from this era was named: True Temper TT Lite tubing.

Which may well be a tad confusing to somebody who's not that au fait. In fairness, BITD, I had to do a double take when first reading the brochure.
