Never seen one in that colour before (must be a lower hemisphere thing).

The auction says v brake only - but you can clearly see a canti bridge at the rear, so cantis or vs would work.

I'm skeptical about the whole 1" steerer thing.

Nice frames (my 95 Apex has the same).

it's a '95, were available in that colour in the UK as well as the more normal black, 1"1/8 steerer.

it's exactly the same frame as your '95 Apex.

Just had a look in my 95 brochure, and I don't know what I was thinking - that's the primary colour (gloss black being the alternative).

I guess what I meant was I'd never seen one in the flesh, so to speak.

Ignoring the other Axis models, for 95, the Axis was £300 more expensive (according to the list price, anyway) than the Apex. The frame and forks were the same as were the wheels. The Apex had LX throughout ('cept for chainset - Sugino Impel 500 - and pedals) the Axis had largely XT ('cept for LX chainset, pedals and BB).

With that in mind, £300 seems quite a jump in list price for that year.
