Dawes One-down - Tat hauler workhorse

I totally understand the fear of swapping tubes with freezing hands. I've self-inflicted injuries due to rushing in freezing conditions. Carrying hand warmers is an option; but if the inserts give you peace of mind, why not? I might be tempted to look at mudguard options to allow me the bigger tyres too.

I can only run 1.75 tyres with mudguards (or could possibly go to 1.85) - does anyone have any recommendations for tyres in this size? Preferable folding (lighter) and not slicks.

Schwalbe Marathon Greenguard have worked really well for me, They have wire beads but never horrible to swap a tube. Their rolling resistance is really good and they have done brilliant service on my tourer for 8 years - with only one puncture. I've even ridden them off road in Dartmoor.
