Dawes found! But what model is it?

Hi all.

I found this Dawes bike in a garden I was working in. Its covered in paint. I didn't get any photos of the whole bike before I stripped it but literally everything was covered in paint. Some good parts on it though!

If anyone wants the frame let me know........

I had a little go with some paint stripper and it does come off so I we will see what is underneath it all............

Is the green and pink under all the black paint?
Dawes Sidekick rings a bell? May well be wide of the mark though

Yes, green and pink paintwork with a full DX groupset.

Ok, a little bit of piantstripper goes a long way! I used B&Q own brand as it has a lower active ingrediant to nitromors so is less un pleasant to use, plus this is paint on metal work not wood so it never really wanted to be on there in the first place. It pretty much all slid off nice and easy.

I think I got a good haul!

Wow looks as good as new DX / Deore II is a great groupset and IMO was built to last, your pics have just proved that !

How long did it take and how messy did you get
