Retro Newbie
Hi all

Im new to the website but not to MTB.

Looking for a little advice, i have the opportunity to buy a Dawes Edge One Single Speed mountain bike, does any one know much about these bikes as struggling to find anything on Google.

It looks like they were an idea between a bike shop in leamington spa and Dawes itself.

Doesn't seem to be much about them.

Many thanks for all your help and appreciate this is maybe a 1999 bike not pre 97.

Thanks
Ben

Hi, Ben ~ welcome to RB. :-) . You are in the wrong department as I think you've worked out, but what the hey!
The Edge One came out in around 2004 from what I remember. They retailed at a bargain £350. Aluminium frame with horizontal dropouts, straight blade steel forks and a reasonable component mix - Avid and some WTB from memory. They were only ever made in black and they didn't change from one year to the next like most bike models do. In production for 3, maybe 4 years. They were never posh, but made great winter hack bikes or good cheap second (or third) bikes.
A used one now in good condition..........£100 to £150 maybe?

Re:

Thanks Reluctant

I have bought the bike, at a very cheap price it was from an police aution by the looks of it - comes with Mavic Crossride Hub/Rim WTB Tyre, Quando hub/wiemann rim WTB Tyre on rear, truvativ single speed crank with bash guard, RockSHox Hydra coil Judy forks, Hope hydraulic front disc brake and XT v Brake to rear.

Only bought it to sell on really, its rather scabby forks/frame - no dents though so i think it will sell for £100 maybe?
