Dawes Audax 600 Giro

Ok, here we have my Dawes frame & fork. Its reynolds 531 and in excellent condition. Size is 22.5 inch or 56-57cm.

This is the only 'damage' on the frame its the paint thats been scuffed by the chain and touched up.

The chainset and front derailleur and in v.good condition and are original RSX 26/36/46 170mm

The headset and BB are tight and smooth. The stem is a 3ttt and 100mm and the seatpost is 27.2mm


Finally this is the replacement bike that fits me much better and received the donor parts from the Dawes. Its a planet-X steel frame 54cm.

From what I've found out this is quite a rare bike I personallly haven't found another online and I HAVE LOOKED.

I did contact Dawes to chase up the serial number but was informed that all the old (pre 2000) records where lost in the big factory fire they had ( anyone remember that? ) So tha age is based on the original groupset (RX100 + RSX)

Going by the groupset and graphics its a 96-97 bike.

I think a lot of the guys on here are mountain bikers through and through... Nice 531 frames go for money on ebay / roadie forums if they've got horizontal dropouts, so you can convert them to fixed gear, but a horizontal dropout Dawes - you'll get 50 quid if you're lucky... Don't get me wrong, it's a great frame, I ride one myself for touring, it's just got no resale value...
