danger on the trails!!! whats your stories?

Personally all I come across are logs dragged across paths but for anyone to do some of the reckless things including wire across trails is premeditated assault which should be recorded and reported to the police.

OR

You could start riding there very regularly, taking careful note of whoever you see returning again like its a normal walking area etc. Close circuit surveillance cameras wired into trees and bushes.
Hire an Ninja to suddenly leap upon the culprit slaying him instantly* Probably find one in the section of the Yellow pages.

*Fiction Velo, dont do it

Some horrifying stories on this thread .
I was once riding down this gentle long slope with one of my mates , when I felt something around my ankle . Thinking to myself , it's only some brambles , I kept going . It didn't release , so I looked down to find some coils of the local farmers fencing wire around my ankle . I'd trailed it a few hundred metres still attached to something at the other end , and was thankful it didn't snag on something before I stopped .

What a sad thread.

I think it is a measure of our modern society that individuals consider common facilities like paths, bridleways and trails as 'theirs', and somehow think they have a perfect right to stop others using and enjoying that facility (you only have to encounter a group of ramblers while on a bridleway to know what I mean).

I have had a very occasional 'you shouldn't be doing that here' comment, both on a bike and on horseback, and when I have asked "why not?" the accuser never has any reason at all and has not the courage to say 'because I don't like it' which is what the whole thing is about.
