Dale pepperoni Fork

I just received a bike off ebay that was kissed with the ebay magic camera.

The paint is crazed all over the frame which is annoying, and not a mention of this beyond "usual scratches" on the ad. What irks me more than that is the state of the fork. According to my verniers there's 2 mm PER SIDE of the steerer missing from cable rub. I remember these were pretty light back in the day, so I'm concerned these might fail if ridden. (this was going to be a hack bike for the wife). Can anyone give me some measurements off a pepperoni (1" ) just below where it enters the headset.
Add to that the split carcass on the tyre (runs the whole circumference) and it gets better.

I'll be contacting the seller :(

Superficially it looks ok; it has the kind of knocks you'd expect - and that doesn't bother me - it's purely the undisclosed crazing (I wouldn't have minded but it's everywhere) and the degree of rub on the fork that's soured it.

I could live with the crazing but I'd like to check on the measurement on the Peperoni.

i make mine about 34.2 although they do also show some cable rub wear now that youve pointed it out...

(It's a 91 cannondale SM200 ! Cannondale stopped to make 1" pepperoni fork in 1991. The steerer became 1"1/4)

I think you can use this fork. The 1" pepperoni steerer was made in steel, and you still have a lot of aluminum around ! (I've got the same fork…)
I think the bike was in a moist garage. The aluminum is oxide under the painting. You'll have to paint it…
