Cyclocross..tell me about it :-)

I am trying the cyclecross thing (or will be after the L2B) on a std 26'' frame with 700c/29'' wheels.

Should be plenty of clearance for 34mm tyres just need to look at tyres and loosing some weight (bike not me  )

Finally got my (moden) crosser built. No intention of ever racing cross again but the bike is quite nice on the tame local tracks interlinked with miles of tarmac.

Shame it comes without bottle cage mounts :?

No bottle mounts? Now that's the sign of an out & out cross racing machine! Even my cross-specific Fort has provision for two bottles (only use them in training though) but nowt else, mind. Don't get me started on "pretend" off-the-peg cross bikes with rack mounts, mudguard eyes, suspiciously tourer-ish geometry etc, etc.....

Indeed. It's a kinesis 'pro5', clearly aimed at the racers rather than rank amateurs such as myself.

While we're doing CX bikes, here's mine:

Put together from second-hand frame (vintage uncertain but it's a fairly early one), various used parts (including most of an 8spd 105 groupset), some bits from the shed (old XT front hub, random saddle and seatpost) and a smattering of new things (Cane Creek cantis, rims and spokes). Worked out quite cheap, rides nice :)
