I must have gone to the same school or had a similar traumatic upbringing like Tintin40: Saddle bags, little dildo pouches, wire beaded tyres, velcro pump straps, mudguards, plastic lamp brackets, bells, horns, reflectors, plastic spoke protectors, streamers all get my back up. I'm mildly miffed at toeclips too. I can't look at a tarted up Beach Cruiser for fear of puking on my own genitals or wanting to start mass genocide.

It's all wrong wrong wrong.

Welcome to the club :D  i like the idea of moving to Sweden

With your penchant for shooting, I thought Norway would be more your bag.

Don't get mad at toeclips - there was a world before clipless.

And they do have some value - you have a fair degree of flexiblity in shoe choice.

One of the reasons I have never been able to embrace clipless pedals.

For me, bling and colourful ano. It's just not very Sheldon, to say nothing of Hovis bread advert.

people (like my boss) who say bikes don't have the same rights on the road as cars as the rider hasn't paid road tax.

It does help you find out that someone is a knobhead pretty quickly when they say that kind of guff

Unless, of course, your boss is trapped in some sort of pre-1937 Life on Mars-style existence where the Road Fund Licence has yet to be abolished. ;)

Look road pedals can actually be ridden OK in normal shoes - or at least I seem to manage it. Having big feet (10 1/2) probably helps!

Time ATACs on the other hand are a non-cycling shoe no-no!
