Nice when you try to help...to have some recognition, I appreciate most will take the help and think nothing of it...that's life.

You bother because you are a good man. Sometimes good people do kind, altruistic things simply for the satisfaction of doing something selfless, of giving something without the need to be thanked or expecting something back in return.
If I was with you now I'd give you a really big cuddle and tell you how grateful I am for everything that you do. How could even the coldest of hearts ignore your need for positive affirmation when you're coming across like a lonely, neglected child. It fair brings a tear to the eye.
