Cutting & Bleeding Hs33 Hose

They do specifically say in the manual to use a blade rather than a wire/cable cutter.
...yeh, the cutter i bought is an A2Z one, designed to cut hydraulic hose, so i reckon it should be ok. Couldn't really find anywhere selling the magura one.

how much was the cutter?

I've cut brake hose with a knife from the multipacks you get for £ 1 in poundland.

a bit of lubricant or spit on the blade makes the hose easier to cut.

on my brakes there is always an inner T-shaped piece that fits into the hose to stop the hose from collapsing when it is done up, the seal being made via the gland ... so it hardly matters if you cut the hose a a slight angle. 8)

shimano mineral brake fluid is compatible with the more expensive magura blood, albeit different colour, well I'm using it without any issues whatsoever :P

Cutter was £9.95 freepost  but hey, i'm warming to the idea of cutting with more freedom.

...I've never taken any hydraulic brakes apart ever so i'm hoping to learn a bit about em with this task  Thanks for the tip on the oil, i know the royal blood is kinda expensive so i'll deffo look into other good mineral oils.

when bleeding, do i need to tilt the levers up so that the bleed screw is directly above the brake hose?
