For Sale is This Vintage / Retro Custom built Trek 850 Mountain bike.
This bicycle is in full working condition and was built from the frame while only selecting rare parts to form a one of a kind custom uniform looking bike.
The bike has seen very very little use and never used with the fitted tyres on the road or dirt.
this bike was built about four years ago for my wife and was used indoors on a roller as an exercise bike for about three months on an off.
Details are as follows:
Frame: 16.5 inch frame made of trek design true temper OX cro-moly strong and light.
Forks: (VERY Rare) Marzocchi dh3 suspension forks. These forks has two air and oil chambers. The only fork that is adaptable to take disc brakes, cantilevers and v brakes. Just need to find the adaptors for disc and cantilever brake setup.
Wheels: 26 inch Mavic alloy v braking rims, stainless steel spokes with Shimano stx parallax hubs.
Both wheels are true spin good and smooth with no dings.
Head set: Tioga not seen many of these.
Stem: Xlite Very very rare in the colour.
Brake levers Shimano stx with new recently added Promax v braking system and brake boosters. Very strong stop on a penny brakes. I did have Shimano deore lx v braking system but I wanted to keep them for another bike as they can cost and are rare. Outer cables are white braded.
Rear mech Shimano STX RC with sealed bearing unit red jockey wheels for a better gear change and smoother pedal. I changed the rear mech cable guide and outer cable. So the inner gear cable and outer cable runs directly to the rear mech. The chain and cassette has been changed. Font mech is Shimano.
The bike is in storage and will update photos when I can.
Shimano trigger shifters 3x7 speed I have to change the 8 speed shifter to the 7 speed shifter in the photo which will match the 7 speed cassette. So one shifter may be slightly different but I can fit a new matching set if required. Outer cables are white braded.
Tyres: Rare Michelin Wild gripper 26 x 1.95 with unused tread as was only fitted for show.
Crank is Shimano Deore retro and rare.
Pedals Diamond back alloy.
There are age, light use and mainly storage related marks. But still a very strong bike by todays standards, Built when bikes were made to last.
I have not seen many of the parts about but correct me if I am wrong.
