These Raleigh's were designed to take Weinmann 500's or the cheaper Raleigh equivalents, so newer calipers with recessed fixings don't tend to fit properly, and this appears to be what is going on.

I too think it is an awful lot of money for what it is, but if it sells and he has a result then good luck to him.

Personally, I'd have painted it white again, but thats just me! :)
 
Good, I'm not going mad then.

There are 'nutted' version dual calipers available, even if the the reach is too long, the bits can be swapped over to suit non recessed frames.

And unfortunately, a common issue, the forks look ever so slightly bent backwards
 
Not sure if the forks are bent, or whether its those wheels making it look a little odd??
