Retro Newbie
Hi all I'm wanting to sell my custom restored version of a 80's Raleigh milk race bike. Started its life as a Rusty White wreck as I wanted a project bike, I have had the frame shot blasted and painted hence now a bright yellow and blue frame, have fitted the following:
-new Mach 1, 700x23c wheels with Tiagra hubs
-new tyres (Michelin Lithion 2)
-new Shimano Claris Shifters
-new Shimano 2300 front mech
-new Shimano 2300 rear mech
-new seat post
-new seat Selle italia gel flow
-new water cages x 2
-new KMC chain
-new handlebar tape
-new headset
-new cassette 8 speed
-new sealed bottom bracket
-size of frame 53-54cm measuring from the centre of the crank to the top of the seat post hole in the frame

The pedals are not included as they are off my other bike. I have only ridden the bike a few times and rides very well only used on very dry days?

Like you say "Started its life as a Rusty White wreck " now it looks like a Tarts Handbag! & thats the most polite thing I can say about it.

Re:

Ok, let's try and be just a little objective about this. You picked up a bike, one that anyone could find for free down the local tip, in a skip or abandoned on a railing somewhere, to use as a project. Fair play to you, nothing wrong with that and it's a good way to learn. However, giving it a coat of paint and hanging some new low-end components on it does not make its value suddenly become greater than the sum of its parts. If you were to keep this bike yourself you wouldn't really be losing out over time, but you'll never make a profit or even cover your costs passing something off as desirable that you already admit was a wreck. It is still a wreck under that paint.
It may have some value if it was an unmolested original example but probably only of nostalgic value to someone after that specific model.
Ebay, fine, ask for a million pounds and I hope you get it, but please don't insult the intelligence and knowledge of your audience here at RB.
Stick around, browse the site and I'm sure you will learn a lot.
Ps I love the way you tell people to grow up then call them a tool. Classy.

I've just had another look at the photos on e-bay & the forks don't look right to me, looking at the photos I can't see how you could fit a front mudguard without getting toe clip overlap, yet its got mudguard eyes.
Thats speaking as a TOOL!! lol ;)
