Pair of 2003 (I think) Mavic Crossmax SL SSC UST Ceramic wheels. Skewers and a pair of Kenda Small Block Eight Tyres included.

The wheels are in absolutely fantastic condition, and look stunning. However, the rear rim has a small hairline crack by one of the spoke holes. The crack has not spread since I have owned the wheels, and can be prevented from spreading further by drilling a small hole at the end. Provided the crack is treated (ie. drilled), it should cause absolutely no further problems.

I've included a couple of links below - the top link contains photos of the wheels fitted to my Zaskar (as they are currently). The bottom link is a thread which I started as soon as I noticed the crack. As I said before, the crack has not spread at all in the time that I have owned the wheels and the bike has been ridden every day.

Re:

Right, here are lots of photos of the wheels (small crack included).

The black mark at the end of the crack is where I marked the rim. As you can see, the crack hasn't spread at all and the bike has been ridden every day.

It's a really simple fix and, provided it's done properly, won't affect the strength, performance or looks of the wheels at all. I can't understand how they haven't sold already to be honest! I'll be keeping them if nobody will give me £100 for them. I've seen Deore wheelsets sell for more than that ;)

I'm including the tyres as I have no use for them. I'm basically throwing them in for free with the wheels, so the wheels will be the same price with or without them (in case anyone asks!)..

have these gone now? If not do you know the weight of the wheels?

Yes they've been sold. I don't know how much they weighed. I'm not a weight weenie ;)... All I know is that they were by far and away the lightest wheels I've had.

Re:

If it helps bigdawg, I've just checked on the weightweenies website and they're listed at 1485g (claimed) and 1523g (actual) for the pair.

Cheers.
