Crossed a line yesterday...

My other three quarters enjoys riding and fettling bikes as well, and there is no way my spending could match her clothes budget even if she didn't!

I think it is something you should try and involve yer wimmin in, it is after all a healthy pursuit.

If the spending is an issue, why not emphasise when you made money on a deal?

Once upon a time I used to trade nice cars, and the wads of cash lying around that facilitated nice holidays and mortgage payments never did any harm when it came to explaining all the short notice trips and hours spent at the lock up.

The problem about covering tracks, is that you remove the evidence you were not doing anything really wrong.

Guys it's getting serious, for the first time yesterday I won an eBay auction (for a nice snowflake Hope rear wheel) and asked the seller to send it to work

Is this common practise or should I be worried?

The only reason to go to work. :D

Snowflake rear wheel?

Oops, I'm worried now. It was an impulse purchase after plenty of Stella...

Thanks for the feedback so far... that's highly cynical Harry!

Yes and no, in that order. I always have stuff delivered to my work address, more reliable that way seeing as I live on my own so no-one in during daytimes to sort out parcels, and avoids my trying to squeeze in visits to the sorting office (nowhere near my house) to pick up stuff if the postie's left the dreaded red card. Colleagues and management are fine with it.

I used to feel guilty but have you seen the price of haircuts at a salon and the cost of theatre tickets, we all have our vices, some are more obvious than others.

Excellent - now that would be crossing a line - bringing one of mine in the house - she went loopy the other day when she found a frame under the bed!

Thanks for all your replies - posted to work from here on in!

Well the good thing about getting stuff sent to work is you can sneak it into the house easier if you have one of those non understanding partners.

Especially useful now it is dark in the evenings, if a wheel or frame, quick grab it out of the car and chuck it behind the garage to pick up at a safer time.

If maud sees you with said item at a later date, you can say you always had it, or got it ages ago, don't you remember.

But understand one thing, wimin seem to have some superior psychic sense that knows when their partner has been naughty, I think they call it women's intuition and it's bloody deadly, if used often enough it can make you feel guilty even when you have done nothing wrong.

Either that or they just plain don't trust us.

To be honest I get everything I buy shipped to work, not just retrobike stuff, I know someone will be in during delivery times.
