So based on that top picture I guess you'll need to completely wrap each arm with the tape?

hehe  - I wondered how long before someone mentioned that, and yeah I've cut the shape to suit the oval shape of the raised part of he crank arm faces

look great, but come on, details! type of paint, how applied, what oven, what temp

Thanks in advance :)

GREAT WORK

but +1... spill ze beans!

Was it just ordinary white spray paint?

Pics of the rattle cans, below  8) The trick is to have a few cans of patience and not try and cover them all in one coat

600g W+D paper where applicable

Oven was set on it's lowest setting around 50degC and left to warm up properly for 10mins (electric/fan assisted) and in all honesty the cranks were in there about 20 mins max (following a good overnight curing beforehand) as I didn't want the paint to melt

Not sure whether to do a final bake in the oven now, as I don't want the decals to soften and ruin in the heat, after all this effort

HTH??

Looking great! Have you tried fitting chainrings yet?

I spent about a fortnight spraying a pair of Judy DH fork lowers for a bike I was building late last year. I was lucky to have a spray booth at work to work in after hours. I must have put ten coats of green paint on them, along with three coats of lacquer. Didn't use them in the end, so they went into storage. When we moved flats in February, my girlfriend dropped them in the garage, chipping them right back to the metal in two spots. I could have died. She pointed at the green paint can next to them and asked if couldn't just "fill it in?"

Not tried fitting the chainrings yet  I'm sure it'll damage the paint (and in all honesty I should've masked them areas off  ) but I can always carefully take the paint back to bare metal, it'll never show anyway, as the rings will cover them
