Its the shipping that put me off buying from US ? :cry: Is it any cheaper sending from over you end as we always seem to get ripped off with everything !!

it's not that difficult. sales price + shipping + 25% of (sales price + shipping). if it still is worth that to you buy it, if not don't buy it.

i.e. you might be able to get that Rascal for $350+$150+$125=$625

a) do you really want it? b) can you get it cheaper locally? IF a=yes AND b=no THEN do it ELSE don't

yes, you CAN but it depends on how co-operative the seller/sender is. if he insists on UPS or FedEx it is more like $450.

a complete bike shipped with USPS in either one or 2 boxes will be $150-180. you can calculate the UPSP shipping costs here

the problem is just that USPS has a size limit (108" length + girth) hence the bike must be taken apart and the boxes must be custom built unless he can find one of the BMX or frame boxes that meet the size limit. and the seller has to bring the box to the post office and queue up there. all that takes a couple of hours and thus most sellers are not really willing to do it. or they want the buyer to pay for it which essentially makes it unattractive.

finally the seller must be willing to charge only actual shipping costs and most if not all estimates include a nice additional profit...
