here we go on the spec

cougar frame number 8359 zerouno accialo 18mcdv6

campagnolo veloce group set with exa drive train

campagnolo seat post, san marco rolls sadle, mavic cpx22 rims with shimano hubs, cinelle bars and stem

the bike is in good condition and looks great

Pictures would indeed help.

The tubing used to make to frame was some of the lightest ever made, even by today's standards. Very prone to rust though.

You mean he was in the race - or just riding around a stage route?

Very doubtful that there was anything steel in Le Tour at that date.

However, as usual, I'm happy to be corrected and have my ignorance displayed to the world

I nearly bought one of these back in 1995 so it's likely to be from around then.

18MCDV6 was made by Dedaccai and is as light as steel got. Frame would have cost about £600 new.

I believe they were made in Italy. Cougar were certainly importing Italian-made alloy frames at the time. The Wilier I ended up with was identical to the Pinarello and Cougar frames.
