Correct tool to remove this BB lockring?

remember to take note as the earlier post mentioned that it doesn't unscrew the normal way it has a reversed thread....your friendly LBS will remove it for around the price of a cuppa!

The way I remember is that either side will unscrew the same way as you pedal

They pretty much always get well-seized in on that side. I've always clamped it in a bench vice and used the frame. A big adjustable spanner or a Stilson won't get enough of a hold and it just chews up the jaws, so don't waste time trying them.

Thanks for the help guys, I've decided to give it to the lbs as I need the headset fitting anyway. They said it'll get done in the vice, for no charge.

I am sure there is an option using bolts - i suspect that Sheldon has advice on this.
