stunning I want it bad- what do folks think it will go for, not familiar with the artist, does this really pump up the value?

I remember seeing some photos of Leni Fried paint jobs in the 90's. For a cool, one-off look, Leni is up there with John Slawta (Land Shark bicycles) but usually with much more detailed images.

most definitely 8)

You used to have a Team Comp, didn't you?

Yes, I can say with almost 100 percent certainty that he is selling a Team Comp. I owned on in green. It's over in reader's rides. It took a little while to get it's exact model and vintage down, due to one of the previous owners sending it back to FCC for freshening up in the mid 90's, and they labeled it a "Wicked Lite" due to that being the only decals they had for that type of frame- not a Yo, but better than a Wicked.

I would've kept that bike had it not been for it being two sizes too large for me. I traded it to a fellow member, here and on Fatcogs. He enjoyed it for a bit, and then sold it on, to yet another Fatcogs member, so it has remained in the family. I could've probably gotten good cash for it, but it felt better to keep it in the family, and I made a new friend along the way.

Team Comps with the G.P. Wilson dropouts are sweet; the seller should post a pic of them. Also, that tange fork is awful on this bike- it deserves better. The Fat unicrown fork that just sold on ebay would've been better. Wonder if the seller held on to the SL Ti sus fork; probably not.

This was the team race bike, before the Yo Eddy came along. I'd want this bike, and would bid, but have a couple pending transactions that need to be completed first, so I'm out. Good luck to the bidders, and hope one of you guys win it. The last Team Comp frame with G.P. Wilson dropouts went for $800 on ebay, but it was a drops1 auction. I imagine this one should get over a $1000, but by how much, is anyone's guess. hope it makes it to the end of the auction

The paint job will definitely up the value. Leni Fried, Mike Augspurger, and Gary Helfrich were all in the same circle of early Fat City Cycles, Merlin, One-off, and that whole Mass bike builders/art crowd. At least I believe so, from what I've read. I'm sure a couple people on Fatcogs, that lived it, can say better, or if I'm even right.

Definitely a nice connection, and the paint job is very cool; love the detail. Good luck Gaz; let me know if I can help.

Possible that the art work will be what decides the "value" - WHATEVER bike (or anything else) that happened to be on.

"Leni works in many different printmaking mediums and does not hesitate to combine them. In 1997, she began making linoleum block prints in order to have a medium she could do while traveling. Linocut plates do not need a press in order to print them. Leni has been making original prints for over 20 years. Her work is included in many prestigious museum collections in the U.S., including The Museum of Modern art and The Library of Congress."
