Cool Blue Pace?

So, lookin through the recently added Pace stuff in the archive i see they produced a cool blue colour. Is this the sort of dark grey colour that there are a few examples of on here or was there an actual blue one? would love to see a blue one if so if anyone has one

Also while im here, one thing that i think is rubbish about later Pace frames is the necessity for a piece of ugly tape or a tie-it or multiples of to stop the rear disc cable from flapping about on the top tube, even in the catalogue the show an F8 with a bit of tape slapped on the top tube. Anyone else think this was a bit crap?

I think 'cool blue' was Pace's name for the blue-grey colour they used on the F6/F7 (similar to Hope's 'gunsmoke').

They did offer the F3 in anodised blue, green or red for an extra £30. They looked amazing but they're now rarer than rocking horse poo and I've not seen one for ages.

Justbackdated has a one-off 'funky pace' that's the same shade of blue...

I agree about the lack of hose guides. Even weight weenies like Pace could have riveted some guides under the top tube. It wouldn't add that much weight!

Not their finest hour, I agree.

But has the added effect of protecting against handlebar dings, so I can live with it.

I had a blue f6, it was fairly electric blue, well i had it re anodized by pace in blue for a friend that bought it off me when I bought an F8, sadly no pictures of it. It was lovely

My F8 has these beautiful looking objects; top bit for cables (despite being a disc-only frame) and bottom bit for hoses. A definite improvement over tape.

If the in question was grey and mid top tube it is a peice of hard pvc to stop the bars denting the top tube in case of bike handling error.


I prefer the early RC200's, F1 in grey but any right up to the F6 would do me. I am not a disc user so the disc specific adornments just make the bike cluttered to my eye, but Pace had to roll with the times and disc were very prevelant late 1990's.
