Unusual crown on the forks....any idea what year they are?

This is very wierd...

Those forks seem to be an exact setup as the pair on the Toad that I pieced together.

And mine have a mismatched crown just like that too: Read on:

Whats strange is that I actually purchased the black crown on ebay. Didnt know what make it was or what legs it needed.

I had a pair of Syncros legs that fitted the crown so happy days - but it seems the crown looks to be a Bontrager one or from a pair of RS1's.

Odd coincidence though!

It's not like any Syncros crown i've seen chap......the bolt layout looks like Tange Switchblades, my guess is the same as yours....probably Syncros legs although the dropouts are a little odd and with an alien crown attached. AFAIK Syncros only ever did 1 1 /18" steerers.

Defos Syncros legs though - so wierd! Im trying to find a pic of mine that I posted on the forum for comparison....

Not that I am an authority, far from it, but I nearly bought some Syncros forks with a threaded one inch steerer in late 91 or 92 (I didn't because the steerer was about 3mm too short). My memory is of course hazy but the legs and dropouts certainly looked very similar to those, no idea what the crown looked like though.
