im surprised at the value of the forests, even more reason to keep them! :evil: :evil:

You Englanders need Scots style 'Right to Responsible Access' rules as regards the countryside. Thus even if the the land is privately owned you can get on it !

It's what the conservatives do remember, what about last time they were in power, the great state facilities sell off. You know that thing we were told would mean in private hands we would have more competion and there better prices and services, complete crap, it's worse now than it was before.

But to look at government, to whom do they serve....... in reality, the country or the markets, or lets put it a different way, where are they, that is the government, those people we foolishly put into power based upon what turns out to be lies, where do they stand the most chances of enriching themselves, enabling the country, or enabling the markets and their contacts there within.

Why is it in the USA they believe in their politicians, but here when we vote, or most vote for the lesser of the evils that present themselves, is our vote worth that much.

But with everything else worth anything to us gone, been sold off, what else is left to sell, it seems the wooded lands now, maybe if we let this berks carry on the way they are going, we all might end up having to rent our country off foreign interests, we will become displaced people as you just have to think what next when the forests are gone, the national parks, then the very land we live on.

Oliver Cromwell's short speech to the Long Parliament on the twentieth of April 1653 ;

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter'd your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this sacred place, and turn'd the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress'd, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.

Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do; I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place; go, get you out!

Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors. In the name of God, go!

That was because of what was happening before 1653, from the English Civil War, similarities can be drawn with 2010, for nothing but terminology has changed, land held in trust was land never meant to be ours in the first place.

the gold was labour, how quickly people forget, and the way labour go on now, you would think they only lost the last election because people voted for the others for a laugh, and not because they bankrupted the country amongst other things (2 wars, which we have yet to win).

Cromwell was a truly horrible man who's main driving force was to wreake revenge on a nation who had 'ripped it out of him' about his ugly boil ridden face. Interestingly, (or not) my wife is a direct desendant of his although thankfully minus the boils.

Will this end up like our utilities with it all owned by foreign companies? They will just chop all the trees down and then sell the land back to us.
