I'd like to connect up my Blu-ray player, computer up to my amp so that they all come through my speakers. I bought a bluetooth transmitter/receiver. But that connects to the computer but no sounds. Also a picture of the back of the blue-ray player socket. Which leads do I need to plug into the amp? Please help. Thanks

That looks like a Cambridge Audio Azur series amp but not a cinema surround amp? and unless it has some sort of digital input it will all have to be done another way

Aha! Cambridge Audio Topaz SR20

You've bought a bluetooth thingumy bob but you need to be able to send it information for it to play into your amp.

At the moment you have a train staion with some track but no train

How is everything connected up as it is? is the PC connected to the TV as well as the Bluray? If so, depending on the TV, it may have a headphone socket that you can use to connect to the amp; you may even have the option in the TV menu to set it as a fixed audio out, a subwoofer out or headphone - it will really depend on the TV

That way whatever is connnected to the telly, it will always be output to the amplificator

Right!!!

Your amp has optical digital inputs, your TV has HDMI inputs? If so, most have optical outputs so connect your amp to the telly and connect the PC to another coax or optical digital input

Re:

That amp looks to have a bit of kit in it, looking at LGF branding, it has WiFi/Lan and USB methods of connecting, or an optional BT dongle.
Do you have that?

more details about the computer and Bray player?

it's all guess work.

you could add a BT audio out to you PC if it doesn't have BT already.
You can connect that dongle you bought to the amp if it has the correct jack.

I have no idea how you stream to it over WiFi or Ethernet, but my guess is you just find the device as a media device on the computer)( oth connected to you network and cast to it.

You BRay player may be more difficult, does it have WiFi/Ethernet?

You will need to go into the menu on the TV and the bluray player and set everything to 'PCM' - that is a downmix from 5.1/7.1 channels into a reasonably high quality 2 channel digital language that your amp will understand.

It will be in the connections or audio menu of the telly and in the setup menu of the bluray

The amplifier has no connections for wifi or USB, the digital inputs are the best way given what he has, bluetooth is just a bit of a faff

Re:

Of course LGF changes all the info :-)

Personally stick BT dongle into MP3 in, that gives you BT casting.

Your TV and Computer then need BT capability (mine do) and you can cast to them once they are connected.
