Got one hideously uncomfortable saddle and one uncomfortable saddle.

My ageing butt is just not coping well....

I don't want to put on a great wide lardy saddle, or spend daft money, but could do with something with a little more 'give' in it..

Any suggestions??

Generally a soft saddle feels nice in the shop, and horrible after 10 miles. The biggest effect in my experience is width - get one the same width as the comfortable one and you should be OK.
The width determines if you are putting weight on your sit bones (good) or the soft bits (agony).

Get yourself a brooks b17..... Your but will thank you for it.
That's a way off... looking at, what, £85??

I love the Brookes saddles, remember my brother had a racer with one on in the mid to late 70's. . . .
If I get one it'll be for next Spring I think... unless some good things happen financially in between ;)

I put the original GT (Aggressor) saddle onto the Marin for the Wife, just plonked me butt on that and it's pretty comfy...

And the hideously uncomfy one is 'Club Roost'. I just ripped the cover off that and am going to have a bash at adding some padding and re-covering in leather..... if ever a plan was pre-set to go badly wrong, this is it

If the GT saddle is comfy for ye, then have a look at ones of similar shape- best saddles are the ones whose shape suit yer Gentleman's Trouser Area, with fairly light but resilient padding.

Charge Spoon - I've been very impressed with them and quite cheap too (£20 delivered).

Had the Spoon on my wishlist until I used my current WTB saddle and surmised that, since the WTB is a bit harsh, the Spoon (from looks alone) would be worse..

Good news that it may not be the case....

How durable is their fake leather??
