Coloured axle nuts - Anybody remember these? Info needed plz

Many years ago, I bought various bits and bobs from a guy who used to own a bike shop, as I was obsessed with tinkering with bikes, and learning what I could from those wiser than I was. Recently I've been clearing my workshop in order to rid myself of my 'mini empire' of bike parts, and came across these:

I think there's at 'least' 120 sets, mostly blue & red, and about 60 loose ones, but a reasonable mix of other colours. I was going to list them on Ebay, as they're going for crazy prices, but for the life of me I can't remember the size, and there's nothing on the packet.

Another seller in the States had a set of the Landars and was listing his as "For 5/16" axle, 26 tpi", yet another lists them as "3/8" x 26T" but you know what it's like on Ebay, and how you have to make sure etc.

They fit some of my mountain bike wheels, but not all, and would probably fit most BMX's too. Both the Landar packets and the H&J are exactly the same, so does anybody remember them, and know for certain what the correct size is?

The axles they fit measure about 9.4mm, but being a memory lossed noob, I don't know the advertised size of those axles, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re:

They will be for 9mm oldschool BMX axles. My old friend Owen Pattison who runs Owens cycles in Petersfield, Hampshire started out selling Landar parts from a shed in his parents garden 8)

Memories memories.

When I put the micrometer on my axle that fits, it reads about 9.3 to 9.4, which made me think that the ( 3/8" x 26T ) was 'possibly' the correct nut measurement, as 3/8 is apparently 9.52mm, which makes sense if the thread on the end of the axle has worn slightly, or the micrometer is slightly out. 5/16th's is apparently only 7.93 which is much smaller.

I think you're bang on about them being for BMX.

I was thinking BMX axles were 10mm or 14mm, but then it struck me to search for Retro BMX and it turns out that the nuts for those old school BMX's were 3/8th x 26t. According to Park Tools, this is also the same measurement for a Solid rear axle, which would suggest why the nuts 'also' fit a lot of Mountain bike wheel axles.

I've not put a spanner near a bike for too long. Even looking at bikes I thought I'd restored 'recently' show up as 2 years ago on this forum lol. Time is flying.

I would think most USA brand vintage BMX stuff will be 3/8x24tpi.
However, 3/8x26tpi - which will be most Asian low to mid range solid axle hardware - is often close enough to interchange with the mountain bike standard of M10x1.0, depending on how tightly toleranced the machining is on the mating parts.

Thanks for the info.
