Colnago Nuovo Mexico Early 80s

Retro Newbie
Update: Recieved feedback that this frame is actually a Nuovo Mexico..

Recently completed project, ridden twice! All parts sourced individually, spent over £1200. Central London.

Price: £1000

Frame looks like a mix of the Mexico and Master frame. As you see the contruction of the frame is classic, just like in the models from the 80s but if you see the details, there are very interesting profiles of two main tubes that make them flatter, more aerodynamic and gets closer to oval CX. All decals are original, the Columbus label on the seat tube says: 'Tubi Speciali Profilati, Profilo S4 Costruito per Colnago'. The frame is in very good condition. There are some traces on the rear fork but these are simply cosmetic. All chromes are in great shape, not a trace of rust anywhere.

Was going to keep this but decided it should go to someone who will actually ride it. Price drop £950

I think i'm correct in saying that if it has 2 crimps on the Top Tube & 2 on the Down Tube plus crimps on the inside of the Chain Stays it a MEXICO
If it has 2 crimps on the Top Tube & 4 on the Down Tube then its a Nuovo Mexico.
Nice bike all the same just missing the cable adjuster on the rear gear.

well spotted info! :)

for friction shifters you don't need cable adjuster but would be nice to see it there...
