Hi
I've been looking for some forks for my battered old Super, and have found these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Colnago-Super ... 2a3fe48417
Do you think they're genuine 'nago's or recent copies? - the chrome/finish doesn't look that great, and there seems to be quite a few unused ones popping up recently...

Any thoughts appreciated.

I see what you mean, there's something not quite right about them. I'm not too sure how many versions of this fork Colnago made but I'm only familiar with one. Here are mine...

Thank's for the reply. They do look slightly iffy don't they, not quite as well finished as I'd have expected - yours seem a little crisper, maybe.

The seller's just told me that they were bought from Hermann Radsport in Liechtenstein. This guy has a few forks available NOS and used and they seem identical - so with all the stamping/engravings present and correct I reckon they might just be legit' :)

Also, a look through their feedback reads like a what's what of popular counterfeit items

ah bugger, hadn't considered that (new to ebay and still a bit green)

I was almost feeling reassured, finger poised for action... hmm.

Just a thought but it might be worth talking to this guy.

Might be an easy way of getting the forks you want. You could sell off the bits and probably cover all your costs.
Thank's for the link. Probably not practical at the mo' but it's another option.
Cheers for your help chap.

I have my doubts.

I have a colnago Super Sprint and have had the forks recently re-chromed (without shading the clover leaf on the crown and the triangle on the shoulders). If you look closely, the the clover leaf is a little more "stubby" (shorter and fatter) than the one on the bay and the "C" is much broader.

And 3 figures for the fork alone is gross - somebody is being duped!!
