Close pass campaign on Kickstarter

After the success of the West Midlands Police campaign to cut the number of drivers close passing cyclists, there's a Kickstarter campaign to supply mats to other police forces: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cy ... -cycle-mat

I for one would like to see some of the assholes that have close passed me get a good going over with a baseball bat, but failing that a stiff talking to and possibly a fine will have to suffice.

Avon and Somerset are supposed to be getting involved in this initiative.

I can't see it myself as the last time I reported a driver for a dangerously fast / close pass backed up with video evidence, they told me I was at fault for trying to turn right on a busy road. Only thing was, I was on a 30 MPH residential street, turning right onto my own drive. :facepalm:

i always give cyclists room when passing in my car, but there is a stretch of road where i live and a group of road cylists insist on using 3/4 of the road causing many a tail back. sometimes passing them requires drivers to pass a little too closely due their arrogant attitudes to the road.
