At last its safely back up north thanks to Adrian.
In all its retina burning neon rust scuffs and scrapes.
I even mumbled " bloody hell " to myself in a Guy Martin-esque kinda way.
:D

Is that complete with grubby overalls, mutton chops and oily hands?

Guy Martin is quite possibly the Fred Dibnah for our times.

That Clockwork needs some TLC, but it's got bags of potential – yey!

Re: Clockwork info please

Along as it's surface rust and no critical damage to the frame, I'm sure the frame will scrub up nice after a good blasting.

I'm heading off home now into the icy night across the whole of old Londinium...

Re: Clockwork info please

That looks like my old bike and if so is the one we thought might be a prototype. Seemed solid enough to me but defo in need of some love. After I found the serial number I lost interest but I still think it's quite a rare thing.

Your right mate. Its the one you had. After seeing the thread i thought it would make an interesting project.

Re: Clockwork info please

Im undecided yet as to which way to go with this. I really would like to keep it original but it is quite rough at the moment. When i get chance i will do a test clean up of one of the bad bits. If i decide to have it painted then yes it will be the full monty.

Just out of interest. What did you make of the serial number. I havent had chance to look at it yet.

Re: Clockwork info please

I know what you mean. I thought it was a bit too far gone to clean up and didn't have the time, money or interest to do a full resto so I passed it on.

From memory the serial number points to a 1989. This was another reason I lost interest as I initially hoped it was an early hand built proto but the serial number ruled that out. Saying that, the recent thread where it was discussed pricked my interest again.

Re: Clockwork info please

Just been looking at the scan of MBuk july 93 with the article on Pace and Orange. Do any of you guys have this copy. I wouldnt mind a high res scan if its not too much trouble. Or even the original copy if someone wants to part with it.

The early production figures are interesting i think.

I've got a hard copy but no scanner. I could photocopy it if you want?

That is the article I referenced in the past when talking about far east production. Wonder how many of the first 50 are still about?
