Click click click...

Bottom bracket?
Cable housing clicking against somewhere?

A couple of my bikes have suffered from both of these - also look for loose bottle cage bolts, I kid you not.

Bear in mind that it doesn't matter how tight something is, if a bearing is knackered it will click, all it needs is one ball bearing to be broken and click, click, click.

If it's only happening on braking and pedalling hard and you've cut out the wheels then focus on BB and pedals, maybe swap out the pedals from your other bike, process of elimination stylee

I have the same problem on my K2 Ozm. I did find the clicking at the lower headset area. When I brake it klunks, then when I land of a jump or pedal hard it klunks.

I suspect a loose lower headset fit into the frame. I plan on buying a deep cup headset for it. I have already done this repair on my Proflex and worked like a charm. Actually I could feel it rocking back and forth.

Good Luck!

Cheers guys. I'll report back after my ride home this evening!

So, don't keep us waiting......was it any of the above??? :?

I am the master of suspense aren't I?

The clicking seems to be from two separate places. One from the headset, and one from the BB area.

The headset noise happens only when I brake. I remember the cups did go in very easily (I still had to use a hammer, only a small one this time...) so I'm not worried about that.

The BB noise is a weird one. It makes a consistent pattern i.e. click click pause clickedy click on each rotation of the cranks. I had a decent look at the BB and it looks like the LH cup is in really far. I didn't have a tape measure kicking about at the time so it's possible that the BB is a 68mm in a 73mm shell. If the LH cup isn't tight enough then it'll potentially cause some kind of play. I'll try switching it out for a 73mm and see what happens.

Anyone got a decent condition 73mm UN72 kicking about?
