So a couple of hours spent removing ,scraping old bike bits, tools, wheels from the deep recesses of the shed and garage. Very therapeutic all in all.
More to go tomorrow, just working myself up to bite the bullet, so to speak.
No idea why I have bought some this junk home.
Note to self .?no more skip diving  🫣

More crap out today . Ffs where did all come from .
Question for the floor. I have a Brooks professional with a broken rear plate.
It looks like it will need a whole new chassis . The leather is in first class condition.
It is way out of guarantee . £100 to make good. I don't think it is worth it .
Bin time:( me thinks.
Yes I know I have just had a B17 refurbished, but the chassis is a lot more substantial.

What you going to do with it all?
Scrap (properly scrap)?, sell? Offer FOC to other riders? Donate to a bike charity?

I'm finding myself in that quandary. I haven't got the energy to sell or karma it out on an individual basis and I hate chucking stuff away on the basis that it'll be needed next week to keep a bike running

Well done guys. The first step is getting in there and starting.

As for getting rid....if you dont have the energy to karma it ( and you feel it has minimal worth), why not take it in one go to a bike charity?

There's a great one near us that provides jobs for people with learning disabilities. What about something like that?

Or put it up as a job lot?

I did this a couple of summers back, loads of donor bike carcasses and too far gone wheels etc, some had to go to the scrapyard, but anything with life left in it got loaded into a mates van and dropped at a local bike charity.

They were chuffed, hopefully some bikes are out there being ridden as a result, and seeing the garage clean and empty for the first time in years was great. The ordeal also cured me of silly impulse buying.

In all honesty I don't think my local bike charity would of taken anything that I have left out for the scrap man .
My local BC mainly does mtb's not 1970s chrome rims etc drop bars etc.
Anything that maybe of use to them has been set aside .
