i used to use products like muc-off untill i descovered that cif oxy action gel works loads better, i still use it now, its ace! it has a strong degreaser and it smells nice too!

Clean the bike
Wow ,yes i just love it
I use the charlie the bike monger's approach, to begin with anyway as i dont know how he cleans his bikes
First start by opening a beer
Second ,drink all the beer then open another
Third,raid the tea towel cupboard
next get a large bucket of hot* soapy water [forget these fancy cleaners for now]
Wash the entire bike but dont ring out the cloth just slap it on soaking
Dry carefully youll go through at least two teatowels and pick up any residue dirt the soapy water missed
Once a month strip the entire bike [you know you enjoy it ]and clean then polish each part lovingly

Generally I'll use mr sheen and a soft cloth.

For shed loads of muck try to wash off gently and dry down, lube and mr sheen.

Occasionally, full strip down and parts go to the degreaser at work, cleaned, rinsed and wd-40'd then lubed. Frame will get a coat of car wax.

The polished stuff gets brasso wadding and a coat of 'chemical guys jetseal'
