Hope someone can help. Looking to restore and rebuild my fathers old CB. I was told it was bought in 1955 as new. Trying to find out the original colour scheme and identify the model. I believe the lugs are Cavalier and Aspirant but apart from that I need help. It was resprayed in the late 70's and is still in good condition.

Hi, and welcome to the forum, you look to be spot on with the model, the serial number on the bottom bracket ( paint may be covering it ) will nail the year and month, but colours and decals would of varied in 1955, and some would of been custom. So the worlds your oyster, have a good look around on google images for pre 1956 claud butlers, I usually go for the Clapham badge, as it is the classic 'real' ( pre holdsworth ) claud decal. Terry
