My car maintenance consists of getting in the car, driving it to the garage, getting out, waiting, saying 'send the invoice to my office', getting back in, driving home.

Easy

Perhaps keep an eye on the classifieds in the back of motorsport news - all kinds of wierd and wonderful stuff comes up there.

Dr S, do your suppliers include a little place in Eccleshall? There used to be a chap there who advertised in the back of Practical Classics who had a lot of old stock. I've had service kits for Dellorto 40's. Not sure if he is still going though.

Mayson and Solomon I think it was. Came back to me in a flash of post ride (new bits on follow the mutt on Cannock). Gower & Lee sounds familiar too.

Gower and Lee are still going but the Sheffield guys are long gone.

NickD- Just about everything is available for the DHLA from Webcon- the UK importer. I use Dellortos on Alfa engines as the atomisation for a given length of inlet tract is far superior than the weber- quite critical on the Alfa Nord engine. Also find that a Dellorto will stay in tune longer. Stick with them, they are a great carb!

If anyone has any Tri-jet DHLA's kicking about I will pay good money for them. They were fitted to the Esprit Turbo and I want them for my Supercharged Bertone Alfa project.

if you know what the parts you are looking for are in french and in exact details , i ll ask my mother partner next week .

As everyting on the type motor is visible i wanted to have more of an 'oldspeed' look motor in the car.

Al, :D

Leave the original pump in place with dummy hoses and hide the electric pump. This way it still looks stock and you also have the original as a back up pump should the electric one fail- just swap over the feed and outlet pipes. this is what i have done on my Alfa's

Si, that sounds like a plan! :D

the engine is running a new oil cooler, full flow oil system and an externaly mounted electric fan.

I assumed the problem was the fuel evaporating in the carb chambers as the bodies were getting realy hot,due in part to short manifolds and the fact that i was missing the phenolic spacers!
I now have the spacers on and the fan ducting directly on to the manifold/ carb bodies.

Old cars! Between me and the missus we have 5 old snotters and i am using a borrowed one from a friend at the moment!!

Al, :D
