Very pleased with the turn out, especially considering how cold it was, saying that it does keep you drier when the ground is frozen. It was good to catch up with Dr S and Barnsley Mick, Uncle Jack and of course the regular riders.
There was mainly modern machinery being used on the ride, but most of the riders build their own bikes, some very interesting builds, in my opinion regardless of riding a retro or modern steed, we were all out riding bikes, which is what it is all about for me.
No rest for me this week, back out doing a recce with Matthews, Kaya and Kentobeli, around Nidderdale in the morning , then a Recce from temple Newsam on Friday with Uncle Jack.
Just a few of my pics below
A cold start
Gil M's carbon fat bike (very Nice)
Andy's lovely Marin, with AMP research forks, this is one of my favorite retro bikes
This little red Robin had excellent taste in his choice of bike. to perch on.
Gil M sporting a fine beard, and an excellent catalog pose
Deputy AEC with a modern Bike, shame on you
Single speed
Caption time, what is Uncle Vern doing?
Just waiting for the Knights that say Ni to jump out on us
Thanks to Vern, Stuart and Gil for organising and making sure we didn't get lost.
It was good to catch up with (not literally as I was pretty much the last man all the way round) lots of old friendly faces, and meet some new ones.
Here are some of my pics, not all have bikes in them - we were blessed with good weather and I didn't want to waste the opportunity of 'capturing the light'.
