Not sure if this was posted here before, but I saw it and started drooling. What a classic bike Thumies, Cantis, threaded head set and 150mm stem I'd guess. Never even new CK made bottom brackets, and what crank set is that?

Additional rings to strengthen the headtube? Or is it cracked? Cranks look like Sugino made to me.

By the deflection in the paint I would say the rings were added after painting - can't think of any reason to do it that way round myself other than to strengthen an area that was damaged

I believe that there bike lives in the "Chris King Factory Museum" in Portlandia. Seem to remember putting my own grubbies right on it.

the rings wer put on becasue of cracks... it was all talk when someone posted up an interview with him (with bike pics) a few years ago...for all those cracked yeti/manitous etc.
