Choice of SLX vs. EL...

Columbus framesets: Any advice appreciated , these would be NOS or used frames...

EL has thinner walls so is more prone to denting. But my DeRosa EL is the best road bike I own - so as long as you don't plan on dropping anything on it - go fo the EL.

If you're lightweight and not a big gear masher go for the EL - it's very light and thin. For durability, strength and rigidity go for the SLX.

Is this EL-OS or EL? It makes a big difference for somebody your size.

EL in its various guises and SLX are all relatively dated tubesets, so none of them is the equal of the latest heat-treated tubesets, so I don't think it really makes any competitive difference that would affect your own performance. I would therefore lean to the SLX insofar as it is more robust.

Thanks that sound like a plan, Is this a Cinelli bracket shell? it looks reinforced like a Cinelli.

What would be the equivalent of SLX in a modern tubeset? How about Thron? is that lighter than SLX?
