Cheap Rocky Mountain Stratos ending soon !!!

Nice one crayons. So it really was a RB bid fest

Main reason I wanted it is cos I have a load of Syncros forks/stem/bars that need a home!

I kept looking at it and thinking it needed a good polish....I could polish it...no wait...I have no room for it...then I put in a cheaky bid any way :P

Congrats...I probably owe you a pint for pushing the price up ..by the cost of a pint :P

Good stuff, looking forward to the build, whatcha gonna do?

Thinking a full resto. Might take a while to find all the bits though :D

From what I can recall the specs were fairly standard – DX-based.

Need to have a look through the '92 catalogue to see what's required. Keep an eye on the 'Wanted' section in the coming weeks.

I was watching too, up to the point I convinced myself it was too big, was gonna out it, but lets be honest, we all knew it was there!

good score though, these are the projects that have some meat to them I find, an unplanned ebay bargain win, and then a year of gathering, mind-changing and scrubbing grubby components :)

Funny this, I've been through much of the thoughts in this thread, just been awy from internet access this weekend so I didn't share it here.

You may hav eseen this seller also had a 19" Explosif frame only ending today, and I won it. BTW for very similar money as the Rocky. I've been eyeing up steel frames for a few weeks now. Decided not to buy some nice unfinished projects here but go for one that needed paint instead. I was watching this one, and though I didn't really know what I was bidding on put a bid in anyway?! Well, the previous project is nearly done ;-)

This thread makes me wonder how many RB bidders were on this too.

Enjoy!!

I dare say there were a few forum members following the Explosif too. Konas seem to be a very popular choice. Good luck with the build

Well let’s face it there’s never likely to be much more of a bargain than this was, cos we’re all watching.

I asked the guy the question about size and I came to the conclusion that this is a size 18.5 and maybe 1990. I also noted that it’s an aluminium frame that weighs 4.7lbs and the 1990 catalogue says Cindy Devine won the world downhill championship on one (with rigid forks of course), so I think we can safely say that it's stiffer than a stiff thing and you’re a lot harder man than me Crayons. I think I’ll just stick to softy steel frames weighing 4.2!
