Chater Lea Track Fork Ends.

Hello.

My vintage track frame has 'double plated' fork track ends. I haven't seen this before. Was it common for bicycle builders to do this and why?

I've seen that a handful of times. I always assumed it was for stiffness. Hopefully we will find out conclusively.

Thanks for the reply...I think your right, for additional stiffness and strength. I hadn't seen it before or had not noticed.
