Chas Roberts frame and bits

entered partly cos bid stood at £1.04p and wanted to see whether there was serious interest or the chance of a serious bargain

now i know

I have a fixed price that I wont (cant afford to go above) in my mind it would still be a bargain price, but it is a semi serious effort. I dont hold out much hope of getting it though...and if I do, i'll deffo have to sell something to cover the cost!

wow that's a lot more thought through than me

haven't really decided what my max is

may stay out for the moment if your bid is the current highest(better it goes to someone here than the risk of someone who might not love it buying it)

steel and especially chas roberts really is real

Less than an hour, its over my slight budget.

Looking at the down tube and the taper on it I would suggest it is not a Genesis, it doesnt have the mono stay of the Dogs, so assume its a spyder...rather a good buy for any one with a lil' cash at the mo.

Good to know, I'm watching with intent...

if any of you guys get this and that crown and steerer is 1" i'd be interested in buying it off you

Infact yep, almost sure its a white Spyder (in black  ) My Genesis has a lugged BB assembly.

:( Tbh I topped out at £150, If I had of won it I would of wanted a £100 respray done on it at some point. Would of been cool to of had a black Roberts to contrast my Genesis.

I missed it, my max bid was £230.

So it was you that pushed me all the way to my max bid  . I had it on EZsniper at £235. Was hoping to pay less tbh. I know I put that as my max bid but it's still a shock when you come to find that you didn't save anything at all on the bidding  .

Anyway the deed is done, quite exciting actually. I have been tentatively looking around for a new project so it seems that this is it. I had been sent additional photo's by the seller so I could reassure myself that it was a spyder before deciding my bid. I based my decision on the frame being worth £150 and the parts on a good day with the right wind could make up the extra £85 but like I say I was hoping to get it cheaper all the same.

I think that I am right in saying that Roberts used a powdercoat for these frames rather than a wet paint, so I plan to get it re powdered in black. I have a full XTR M900 groupset waiting for a new home. It would be nice to go Record OR but I already have the XTR so that's the plan to start and we'll see how it pans out from there. :D

I will obviously start a thread and serve the populous with lot's of lovely pics to keep you all happy 8)
